Boys basketball: Schedule, scores and game recaps for Dec. 6-7
The high school boys basketball season began last week with some interesting results, including a handful of our Top 10 teams from the preseason suffering their first defeats.
If you missed it, all of last week's scores are listed below.
We'll have Player of the Week voting live on Monday and Tuesday this week to celebrate some of the top performers from the opening week of the season.

Monday's game recaps
North Salem 58, Woodlands 55: Woodlands rallied from a 14-point deficit in the third quarter to tie game game 55-55 with 1 minute remaining, but North Salem held on behind Roger Squire, who had 33 points and 20 rebounds for North Salem (3-0). Eric Woodbury had 29 for Woodlands (2-1).
Hastings 56, Palisade Prep 53: Josh Thigpen had 18 points for Hastings (1-2). Deneli Mcintosh had 31 points to lead Palisade Prep. Louis Martinez added 11.
Sacred Heart 63, Gorton 48: In the John Volpe Classic at Sacred Heart, Dwayne Pennicoke and Jalen Lewis had 20 points apiece for the Irish. Lewis also led the defense with six blocks.
Westlake 74, Children's Village 34: Martin Sunjic led four Westlake players in double figures with 13 points and was joined by Jack Neglia (12 points), Nick Castellano (11) and Christian Occhipinti (10). Tommy Marzziotti hit three 3-pointers for the Wildcats (1-1).
Dobbs Ferry 67, Yonkers Montessori 32: Jerel Outlaw had 19 points and Sean Miller added 14 for Dobbs (1-2). Adam Schwartz had eight points and eight rebounds for the Eagles.
Ketcham 72, Yonkers 18: Daniel Belmonte had 15 points, Gabe Bristow 14 and Owen Paino 13 for Ketcham (2-1).
Brewster 60, Port Chester 45: Steve Switzer had 29 points to lead Brewster. Brandon Nieto led Port Chester with 10 points.

Tuesday's game recaps
John Jay 44, Hen Hud 30: Andy Kote had 19 points and eight rebounds and Logan Baumgartner had 11 points and seven rebounds for John Jay. Dean Hiltsley led Hen Hud wiht 12 points.
Panas 59, Sleepy Hollow 35: Alex Tavarez had 17 points, Dillon Chenard had 12 and Derek Mojica added 11 points for Panas (3-1). Todd Smith Jr. and Alfredo Rodriguez had eight points apiece for Sleepy (1-2).
Stepinac 82, Holy Cross 48: Isaiah Alexander had 18 points, 10 rebounds and three steals, Sam Gibbs had 12 points, seven rebounds and seven assists and Ben Lyttle added 12 points and 13 rebounds for Stepinac (2-0).
Pelham 56, Pearl River 53: Garrett Jenkins had 16 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks for Pelham (3-0). Jack Dwyer had 18 points to lead Pearl River.
Tuckahoe 58, Putnam Valley 56: Kyle Blackman had 16 points to lead four Tigers in double figures. Toma Ito added 15 points and Chase Garcia 13 for Tuckahoe (2-0).
Albertus Magnus 35, Roosevelt 33: Brian Metcaf had 14 points to lead Albertus (1-0). Sean Kirkland had 17 points and Matthew White had 11 rebounds and five blocks for Roosevelt.
Hamilton 96, Yonkers 38: Jaylen Savage had 31 points, Chris Ward had 21 and Christian Davis added 13 for Hamilton (1-2).
Rye 51, Nanuet 50: Daniel Roberts and Andrew Carroll each had 11 points. Roberts also had four assists and Carroll had six rebounds. Daniel Nyamollo had 19 points and James Moran and Ray McCune had 13 points apiece for Nanuet.
Byram Hills 50, Mahopac 46: Danny Bernstein had 17 points and eight rebounds and drew three charges for Byram Hills. Tyson Repa had 15 points and seven rebounds and Bobby Chicoine added nine points and 14 boards. Patrick McMahon led Mahopac with 16 points. Michael Callahan added 14.
Yorktown 72, Peekskill 42: Eddie Brucaj had 24 points and 10 rebounds and Billy Feeks added 11 points, three rebounds and three assists for Yorktown.
Arlington 49, Mamaroneck 36: Aidan Roy had 23 points and Ethan Glassman added nine in the loss for Mamaroneck (1-1).
Mount Vernon 65, Suffern 35: In the Vincent Crotty Memorial Tip-off Game at Suffern, Elijah Morris led Mount Vernon with 18 points. DeMarley Taylor added 14 and Jayden Austin had 10. Neil Daterao had nine points to lead Suffern.
