Boys basketball roundup: Fowlerville, Olivet pick up narrow league victories

Greg Wilkinson led all scorers with 25 points as the Gladiators were able to outlast Eastern for the CAAC Red road victory. Carter Young tacked on 12 points for Fowlerville (6-3, 2-1). Willie Curtis notched a team-high 12 points and Kyren McKnight chipped in 10 points for the Quakers (0-7, 0-4).

OLIVET -- Bryce Wine hit the go-ahead basket with under 20 seconds to go as the Eagles edged Perry (5-4, 2-3) for the GLAC victory. Bo Lincoln finished with a team-high 13 points and three assists, Wine scored 12 points and snagged three steals and Brayden Wine tacked on seven points and four rebounds for Olivet (10-0, 5-0).

WILLIAMSTON 77, ST. JOHNS 46

ST. JOHNS -- The Division 2 No. 2-ranked Hornets rolled to a CAAC Red road win over St. Johns (1-6, 0-3). Jay Wallace tallied a team-high 20 points with five steals, four rebounds and four assists and Max Burton notched 13 points and five boards for the Hornets in their win. Mason Docks chipped in 11 points and Spencer Feig and Jake Hammond each added seven points for Williamston (10-0, 5-0).

EATON RAPIDS 74, PORTLAND 60

PORTLAND -- Senior forward Zane Kemp led all scorers with 23 points to lead the Greyhounds to a CAAC White win over Portland. Trey Acker picked up 14 points and Braylon Noback chipped in 10 points for Eaton Rapids (5-5, 2-3). Evan Gross put up a team-high 17 points, Trent Meyers scored 14 points and Chris Battley notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Raiders (2-8, 2-3).

WEBBERVILLE 83, BURTON BENDLE 68

BURTON -- Nate Lott II notched a triple-double with 25 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the Spartans to a GAC win over Burton Bendle (6-3). Kolson Lycos finished with a team-high 34 points and dished out six assists and Riley Kingsley added nine points for Webberville (6-3). JV score: Burton Bendle 53, Webberville 43

OVID-ELSIE 69, MONTROSE 53

ELSIE -- Axel Newell tallied a team-high 22 points and hauled in nine rebounds to help guide the Marauders to a MMAC win over Montrose (2-7, 1-6). Clay Wittenberg finished with 20 points and six rebounds and Dylan Carman added on 17 points for Ovid-Elsie (9-0, 7-0).

LESLIE 47, LANSING CHRISTIAN 36

LESLIE -- A 16-2 run in the third quarter pushed the Blackhawks to a home GLAC win over Lansing Christian. Bronson Clayton scored a game-high 11 points and Aidan Borst finished with 10 points for Leslie (4-5, 2-3). Timothy Sullivan notched a team-high 10 points for the Pilgrims (2-7, 1-5).

PEWAMO-WESTPHALIA 59, BATH 47

WESTPHALIA -- The Pirates got off to a fast start with a 19-7 run in the first quarter en route to a CMAC victory over Bath. Jamison Eklund led all scorers with 22 points, Blake Smith scored 21 points and Braden Miller added on 10 points for Pewamo-Westphalia (6-3, 5-1). Ethan Swenson picked up a team-high 18 points and DeVondre Chandler tacked on 11 points for the Bees (4-3, 3-2).

SARANAC 64, DANSVILLE 53

SARANAC -- Cody Ream finished with a team-high 15 points for the Aggies in a CMAC road loss to Saranac (3-6, 1-5). Jared Bristle scored 13 points, Zach Sykes tallied nine points and Sam Hodgson picked up eight points, 14 rebounds and five blocks for Dansville (2-7, 1-5).

CORUNNA 65, OWOSSO 30

CORUNNA -- Braylon Socia led the Cavaliers with a team-high 15 points and grabbed six rebounds as Corunna secured a Flint Metro League win over Owosso. Wyatt Bower scored 13 points and Peyton Termeer tacked on 12 points for Corunna (5-3, 4-3). Chase Zalecki and Teddy Worthington each scored a team-high six points for Owosso (0-8, 0-6).
