The Mason boys bowling team is headed to the state finals.

The Bulldogs earned a trip by capturing a Division 2 regional title with a score of 3,309 at Spectrum Lanes in Wyoming.

Mason was one of two Greater Lansing teams to advance from the regional and finished 24 pins ahead of runner-up DeWitt. Wayland was the other qualifier with a score of 3,211.

Charlotte was the next best area finisher and took fourth.

Mason and DeWitt will compete at next week's state finals at Century Bowl in Waterford.

Division 3 at Sherman Lanes

Portland earned a spot in the state finals by finishing third at its regional with a pin total of 3,328. Unity Christian finished as the champion with a total of 3,286.

The Raiders advance to next week's final at JAX 60 in Jackson.

Division 4 at Northern Lanes

Fowler is headed to the state finals as a team after taking third in Friday’s regional. The Eagles finished with a pin total of 2,861. Saginaw Nouvel had a score of 3,034 to win the title. Ithaca finished fourth.

Fowler will compete in next week's state finals at M-66 Bowl in Battle Creek.

Division 1 at Royal Scot

Holt finished eighth to lead the area teams at the regional. The Rams had a total of 3,109.

Division 2 at Richfield Bowl

Owosso finished fourth and were one spot shy of qualifying for the state finals. The Trojans had a pin total of 3,165.

Division 2 at Westgate Bowl

Ionia just missed reaching the state finals and took fourth at the regional with a pin total of 3,170.

Division 3 at Alert Bowling Lanes

Corunna finished sixth to lead area teams at this regional. The Cavaliers had a score of 2,759.

GIRLS

Division 2 at Spectrum Lanes

Charlotte and Mason are headed to the state finals after taking second and third at the regional. Charlotte had a pin total of 2,973 and was four behind champion Allegan. Mason was third with a total of 2,941.

The Orioles and Bulldogs move on to next week's finals at Century Bowl.

Division 1 at Royal Scot

Holt earned a trip to the state finals by taking third at a Division 1 regional at Royal Scot. The Rams had a pin total of 2,873 to edge Davison by nine pins for the final qualifying spot.

Traverse City was the champion (2.959) and Grand Blanc (2,901) finished as the runner-up.

Holt will compete at next week's state final at Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park.

Division 2 at Richfield Bowl

Owosso finished 19 pins out of the final qualifying spot and finished fourth at its regional in Flint. The Trojans had a pin total of 2,496, while Iron Mountain finished with 2,515 to take third.

Division 3 at Sherman Lanes

Portland had the best finish in the area and took eighth at the regional with a pin total of 2,231.

Division 4 at Northern Lanes

Ithaca was the area’s best finisher and ended up fifth with a score of 2,324. The Yellowjackets came up 54 pins shy of the final qualifying spot for the state finals.

Division 3 at Alert Bowling Lanes

Corunna had the top finish in the area, placing fifth with a score of 2,380. Ovid-Elsie followed and placed sixth.
