Boulder County area cone zones for July 4-10, 2022

Jul. 2—Boulder

30th & Colorado Underpass Project: Left turns will be restricted westbound, eastbound and southbound for underpass construction. Sidewalk detours where noted (southeast quadrant sidewalks closed). Use temporary crossings at 30th/Euclid and Colorado west of the intersection. Cyclists merge with traffic. Northbound bus stop on 30th (BOUND) closed; board at next stop. Anticipated end date is Dec. 31.

Pollard Jeep site: The right lane on 30th Street heading north will have intermittent lane closures for the duration of the project. Arrow boards and signage will be used to direct traffic between Walnut and Mapleton streets. Anticipated end date is July 15.

30th and Bluff: Expect intermittent lane closures on 30th Street at Bluff Street (between Pearl Street and Valmont Road), for underground utility testing. Work is expected to be done between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., from July 10 to Jul 15.

Boulder County

Sugarloaf Road: Boulder County started the last of the 2013 flood recovery-related projects on Sugarloaf. The project involves the construction of five retaining walls, drainage improvements and reconstruction of about 2,000 feet of roadway just up from Colo. 119 and includes a four-foot shoulder in the uphill lane. Temporary traffic signals were installed on Sugarloaf because the road is reduced to one lane in the construction zone. In addition, Colo. 119 and Boulder Canyon Drive is reduced to one lane during working hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Flaggers are being used to guide travelers on Colo. 119 during the lane closures. The project is anticipated to last into October.

Chipseal roadwork: Chipseal operations throughout Boulder County began June 7. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday on nine stretches of roadway in the following order: 119th Street from Oxford Road to the county line; 115th Street from Oxford to Niwot Road and on to East County Line Road; Isabelle Road from 95th Street to U.S. 287; Valmont Road from 75th to 95th streets; Jay Road from 63rd to 75th streets; Lookout Road from 75th Street to U.S. 287; Somerset and Longview roads in Niwot; 73rd/75th streets from Niwot Road to Colo. 66; North 115th from Colo. 66 to Yellowstone Road. Work will require lane closures and reduced speeds. Cyclists are advised to avoid these roads. The project is anticipated to continue into July.

Lafayette

LaMont Does parking lot: The LaMont Does Park parking lot is closed along South Boulder Road. The parking lot on Saratoga Drive will remain open and accessible for overflow parking. The restrooms at LaMont are also closed. Temporary restrooms are available in the Saratoga Drive parking lot.

South Boulder Road: South Boulder Road is in a two-way/head-to-head configuration on the north side of the road. Eastbound and westbound traffic will continue to use this configuration while crews install the storm sewer pipe. Westbound South Boulder Road at Saratoga and Merlin drives will have one through travel lane and one left turn only travel lane. Prepare for delays in the area.

RTD bus stop: RTD bus riders who use the stop on South Boulder Road at Robin Hood Street can catch the bus at the next stop on Sir Galahad Drive at South Boulder Road. Traffic must stay on designated paths.

South Boulder Road sidewalk: The sidewalk on the south side of South Boulder Road from Saratoga Drive to 120th Street is closed. Pedestrians and cyclists should follow sidewalk detour signage and use the sidewalk on the north side of South Boulder Road in this area.

Longmont

Chipseal roadwork: Chipseal work is being done around the city, on Third Avenue from Martin Street to Colo. 119; Addie Rose Lane; Alpine Lane; Autumn Court; Carbide Court; Drift Place; Eldora Place; Independence Drive; Kinnikinnick Court; North Shore Drive; Snowbank Court; Trevor Circle; and Trevor Court. Work is scheduled to last into September. Affected residences and businesses will be notified in advance.

Sixth Avenue: Sixth Avenue will be closed between Sumner and Vivan streets for gas meter work, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. July 6-9.

Louisville

Dillon Road: Dillon will be closed from 96th Street east to Pierce Avenue beginning July 5, through July 19, to accommodate storm sewer construction. The detour route includes South 96th Street, Colo. 42 and South 104th Street.

Erie

Weld County Road 5:There will be full closure of the intersection of Flora View Drive and WCR 5 fromJuly 9-15 for removal of existing asphalt, cut/fill grading per project plans, placement of base course, concrete curb and gutter, related utility piping for services, asphalt paving, striping, and signage. All traffic attempting to reach Soaring Heights will need to use the southern parking lot entrance and come from the south on WCR 5. All traffic from the north attempting to reach Soaring Heights or Erie High School will need to detour on Horizon Avenue and Colliers Parkway.

Weld County

Interstate 25: From 9 p.m. July 7 to 5 a.m. July 8, crews will close the southbound I-25 on- and off-ramps at Colo. 56 to shift southbound I-25 traffic to a new alignment. This will allow crews to complete work on the new ramps of the improved interchange.

County Road 13: WCR 13 will be closed from Colo. 60 to County Road 50 for guard-rail repair on July 7.

County Road 22: WCR 22 is closed from County Road 31 to County Road 41 until Aug. 12.
