Boston’s Jayson Tatum 6th in NBA for jersey sales in 2021-22 season’s 1st half

Even though he has not been playing up to his usual standards this season, All-Star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is evidently as popular as ever among those who purchase NBA jerseys, with the St. Louis native checking in at sixth overall in the league’s list of top-selling player jerseys based on NBAStore.com sales for the first half of the 2021-22 season.

Tatum trails Los Angeles Laker LeBron James, Golden State Warrior Stephen Curry, Milwaukee Buck Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brooklyn Net Kevin Durant, and Dallas Maverick Luka Doncic in that order to hold the sixth-most purchased NBA jersey slot, just ahead of Memphis Grizzly Ja Morant.

Tatum’s numbers this season are a little lower than last in most counting stats, with his points per game dropping from 26.4 to 25.2, and his assists per contest from 4.3 to 3.8, but is rebounding a little more this season at 8.6 compared to 7.4.

Still among the league’s best players despite a 22-attempt slump from 3 that has his season average at a career-low 31.1%, Tatum’s play will likely improve as water finds its balance in the second half of the season.

Which, incidentally, shouldn’t hurt his jersey sales between now and the postseason.
