Bon Temps Grill owners opening jazz club in Lafayette

The owners of Bon Temps Grill are opening a New Orleans-style jazz club in the former Jolie’s Louisiana Bistro at 507 W. Pinhook Road, the owners announced this week.

Patrick and Steven O’Bryan’s new concept, Whiskey & Vine, will be a classic cocktail lounge featuring New Orleans culture with live blues music, traditional southern food, and a large selection of cocktails and spirits, the brothers said in a news release.

“We want to bring something uniquely different to Acadiana, something that fills a gap in the community while maintaining a hint of familiarity. The type of familiar feeling that is exciting, inviting, welcoming, and, to some, nostalgic,” said Steven O’Bryan, the co-owner of Whiskey & Vine, in a release. “Our team is committed to creating an environment that gives guests a full sensory experience from beginning to end.”

The restaurant will aim to be a premier venue for local and visiting crowds, offering a variety of drink selections, an array of whiskey options, and a wine selection curated by in-house sommelier and general manager Dina Bohn. The lounge will also have dishes from Executive Chef Dan Carter.

“From the moment this idea came to life, our goal has remained the same: to create a destination that is original enough to stand out in the minds of everyone who visits and keep them coming back,” co-founder Patrick O’Bryan said. “And because of the support of everyone involved, including a knowledgeable team with years of combined industry experience, we are confident we will achieve exactly that.”

The restaurant is expected to open late in the fall and offer dinner all week long and weekend brunch.

The duo’s other restaurant, Bon Temps Grill, moved into the former Blue Dog Cafe space in 2021. The move was a significant size upgrade for the restaurant, which has become a favorite for locals and visitors for its Cajun food and atmosphere.
