Twitter reacts to Marcus Stroman being dealt to the Mets

If you’re a New York Mets fan that came here to see salty Yankees fans’ tweets, you’re in luck. And if you’re a Toronto Blue Jays supporter who is sad to see Marcus Stroman leave, you will find that others feel the exact same way.

Twitter is never at a shortage of opinions - for better or for worse - and you can bet that many had something to say when one of the top pitchers rumoured to be on the trade market was finally dealt on Sunday.

Let’s start with how Blue Jays fans felt, shall we? They are the ones losing someone who was a fan favourite after all.

Needless to say, many people who root for Toronto were very upset to see the 28-year-old go. Mets followers, though, were a little more split in their reception of the news. Happy about acquiring an all-star, but also questioning the decision as the team isn’t considered to be a title contender at the moment.

If there is one net positive that all Mets fans can get behind, however, it is the fact that the club prevented the Yankees, who were reported to be in talks with Toronto about Stroman, from acquiring the ex-Jays ace.
