Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hilariously eats classic Canadian food
Following a bit of a slow start to his rookie campaign with the Toronto Blue Jays, there’s little doubt that a head-turning performance at this year’s Home Run Derby in July has resulted in the elevation of Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s play to a new level.
The 20-year-old phenom has been sensational as of late. He’s currently riding a nine-game hit streak in which he’s smashed four home runs, collected 18 RBIs and posted a .488 OBP. On top of that, he received the second AL Player of the Week award of his short career.

Now that Vlad appears to be comfortable playing at the MLB level, American Express recently helped him become a little more familiar with some of the finest cuisine available north of the border.
A young, vibrant personality that continues to work on his English, he didn’t disappoint while the cameras were rolling.
Based on his reactions to the ketchup chips, maple cookies and bag of milk, maybe the cultural differences between the Dominican Republic and Canada aren’t as big as we’ve been led to believe.
Furthermore, his cheeky/smug looks at the camera throughout were incredible. It almost (the key word being ‘almost’) felt as if Guerrero Jr. was cast to play Jim Halpert in a Latin-American remake of The Office.
Completely switching gears here, watching the young man slam that glass of milk truly was something else. He sucked that back like a newborn calf.
More importantly, though, he had no qualms when his eyes fell upon the very-(Eastern) Canadian way to transport the bovine beverage. That’s good because Toronto’s had other professional athletes that weren’t nearly as fond of the concept.
