Report: Blue Jays veterans Sogard, Hudson drawing trade interest
Marcus Stroman and Ken Giles are the Toronto Blue Jays’ best trade chips this summer, but a pair of other veterans are also reportedly garnering interest.
Opposing teams have been eyeing utility player Eric Sogard and relief pitcher Daniel Hudson, according to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi.

Sogard has been found money for Toronto in 2019, slashing .306/.370/.494 through 68 games. He’s slugged a career-high 10 home runs on the year, which blows away his previous high mark of three.
The 33-year-old is a versatile defensive piece, proving capable of playing all over the diamond. Morosi believes Sogard is an option for teams that don’t want to break the bank for Kansas City Royals star Whit Merrifield.
Morosi specifically names the Boston Red Sox as a suitor for Hudson as the World Series champions aim to improve their relief corps, which owns a collective ERA of 4.54. After a shaky start to the season, Hudson has caught fire, surrendering just two total runs in all of June and July.
MLB’s trade deadline is July 31, and the Blue Jays could look a whole lot different by then.
