Blue Jays Roundup: Golf finishes the week at Jamestown Country Club

May 21—The 40-degree temps and on-again, off-again rain may have kept West Region golf teams off the course in the morning but come afternoon, a slew of prep golfers flooded the Jamestown Country Club greens and fairways.

Jamestown was in a battle for third-place all afternoon, until finally on the last hole Jamestown gave up a few strokes and Legacy regained the No. 3 spot with a score of 359. Jamestown was one stroke behind the Sabers with a team score of 360.

Century won its fifth-straight tournament with Century's Logan Schoepp taking home top-individual honors. Schoepp topped the podium with a five-over-77 through the 18 holes played. Schoepp was the only golfer to break 80. Century and Minot had nine of the top-10 finishers. Dickinson, Watford City and TMCHS did not compete Friday.

Andrew Walz was the Blue Jays' low-scorer finishing his round with an 87 while Hunter Gegelman was just two strokes behind him with a score of 8. Easton Romsdal rounded out the Jays' top three with a 91. Luke LeFevre and Camron Andersen tied for the fourth-best score, both carding a 93. Jordan Dooley capped off the team's scoring with a 105.
