Blizzard update: Only 349 without power on Cape Cod; it's a snow day for most schools
What a different less than a day makes. There are a mere 384 Eversource customers without power this morning on Cape Cod and the Islands following Saturday's blizzard — down substantially from the thousands of outages as recently as Sunday afternoon.
Eversource on Sunday had promised to restore power to most of "the vast majority" of customers still without electricity by the end of the day today - if not sooner.
Late yesterday afternoon, about 22% of its Cape and Vineyard customers were without power — about 44,882, according to the utility's online outage maps. As of 7:30 this morning, 0.19% of customers didn't have power.
Barnstable had the most outages at 131, followed by Wellfleet at 69, Dennis at 50, Chatham at 47, Eastham at 20 and Orleans at 12.
