Billboard Music Awards set date for 2021

The Billboard Music Awards are tuning up for the spring.

The 2021 edition of the annual ceremony will take place May 23, organizers announced Monday.

Organizers have not said who will host or perform at the show, and nominees haven’t been announced. A venue for the show has also not been unveiled.

In a tweet Monday, the Billboard Music Awards said the ceremony will air live on NBC that day, beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

“Only 118 days until… The 2021 Billboard Music Awards!” the tweet reads.

The 2021 show will take place just seven months after the 2020 Billboard Music Awards were held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles last October.

Last year’s ceremony, which was hosted by Kelly Clarkson, was originally scheduled to take place in April 2020 in Las Vegas, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Post Malone led that show with 9 wins, including the award for top artist, after receiving the most nominations of anyone with 16.
