Biggest Gebo's store sets opening date for Lubbock

This Plainview-based farm and ranch retail company is going bigger than ever with its newest location in Lubbock, which is set to open in a few weeks.

Since the start of Gebo's Distribution Company in 1959, the company has grown to 19 locations across two states. On Sept. 1, 2022, the newest store will open as the second in Lubbock at 16301 FM 1730. This will also become the 20th location.

Christopher Ashby, district manager of store operations, mentioned this will be the biggest store yet at 35,000 sq. ft. of sales space.

"We sell a little bit of everything, from toolboxes, guns, dog food, household goods, décor, clothing, I mean, you name it, we pretty much got it, minus groceries," Ashby said.

The new location was also ideal for the company, as Lubbock continues to grow southward.

"We're kind of jumping in with the growth of Lubbock, and being able to help the communities out here," he said. "The way (the farm and ranch community) is growing is small tracts, your hobby farmers, hobby ranchers, which is pretty much what we cater to."

The store will feature more items than any other location in the bigger, more open location.
