South Korean singer-songwriter BIBI will star alongside “Vincenzo” lead actor Song Joong-ki in the upcoming noir film “Hwaran.”

The film will follow protagonist Yun-kyu, played by Hong Sa-bin, who wants to escape the struggles in his life. He meets a crime boss named Chi-gun, played by Song, and becomes involved in some unfortunate situations. BIBI is set to play Yun-kyu’s sister.

The artist’s casting arrives on the heels of the news that she would be stepping down from Season 2 of Netflix’s “Sweet Home” due to scheduling issues, with her involvement in the hit series having been confirmed just two weeks ago.

In addition to her upcoming acting projects, BIBI is gearing up to release her debut studio album “Noir: The Lowlife Princess” in October. She teased the title to NextShark in an interview last month, saying, “If I were to define this album’s genre in one word, it would be ‘noir.’ You’ll see me dive into different concepts and styles in my upcoming album 100 percent.” Ahead of the album, BIBI will drop the prerelease single “Animal Farm” on Tuesday for her birthday.

“Noir: The Lowlife Princess” will include a series of music videos and a webtoon, all of which will visualize the narrative around the music project.

BIBI will also continue her streak of performances with 88rising, having recently been announced as one of the artists who will be featured in the Head in the Clouds Jakarta music festival this December. Artists joining her include NIKI, Rich Brian, Joji, (G)I-DLE and MILLI, to name a few. BIBI previously performed at Los Angeles’ Head in the Clouds festival last month.
