John Lewis predict the top toys for Christmas 2019
Yes, it’s now only 17 weeks until Christmas.
Although it may be a tad too soon to throw yourself fully into present shopping, getting a head start is always a good idea, especially if you have kids.
Luckily, John Lewis have just revealed their predictions of the top 10 toys for Christmas 2019 - and the results may surprise you.
The retailers have already seen a 21% increase in sales of wooden toys this year, due to the growing importance of buying products that can be passed down for generations.
“As we all become more aware of our impact on the environment we are seeing a move away from products such as slime and collectables in favour of more sustainable toys that have limitless play value and can be passed down to younger children” says Harry Boughton, Toy Buyer at John Lewis.
Therefore, 15 new wooden toys have been created for Christmas 2019, the high street store now having 120 types on offer, including a 50-piece train set, mini kitchen and a pull-along unicorn.
The list also includes some trusty favourites, such as a rocket LEGO set, folding scooter and dolls house.
