Jun. 24—Donald Trump will host a fund‑raiser for Max Miller, a former aide running for Congress in Ohio's 16th District, in addition to a rally for him Saturday.

It costs thousands of dollars just to get close to the former president, who hasn't returned to Ohio since the 2020 election.

Prices range from $1,000 for the reception and priority seating at the rally to $15,000 for a photo with the former president, a VIP reception, VIP rally seating and expedited entry, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by The Blade. The fund-raiser's exact location hasn't been disclosed, but the invitation says it will be in Cleveland.

The rally itself at the Lorain County Fairgrounds in Wellington, Ohio, is just the icing on the cake for Mr. Miller, who served as Mr. Trump's deputy campaign manager in 2020. The fund‑raiser will bring in thousands to boost Mr. Miller in his primary campaign against U.S. Rep. Anthony Gonzalez, one of 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Mr. Trump for inciting the U.S. Capitol riot.

The move put a target on Mr. Gonzalez' back in the 2022 election, when Ohio loses a congressional seat and redistricting changes its remaining congressional districts' boundaries.

Mr. Miller has a joint fund‑raising committee, Max Miller Victory Fund, that includes Max Miller for Congress, Dependable Conservative Leadership PAC, and Mr. Trump's Save America PAC.

Joint committees allow candidates to collect more money with a single check, but campaign-finance limits for individual accounts still apply, and there are restrictions that govern how the money raised can be spent. Mr. Miller won't be able to personally use it all for his campaign.

Mr. Miller, 32, was unknown politically in Ohio before returning to his home state to challenge Mr. Gonzalez with Mr. Trump's backing. A Cleveland State University graduate, he worked both for Mr. Trump's campaign and as a White House staffer before joining the congressional race.
