Berks high school honor roll: December 5, 2022

Dec. 4—Boys basketball

Tulpehocken senior Nolan Sweitzer scored 24 points to lead the Trojans over Pequea Valley in the championship game of the Tulpehocken Tip-Off Tournament. He also scored 13 points in Tulpehocken's 51-48 win over Upper Perkiomen in the first round.

Girls basketball

Berks Catholic senior Caraline Herb scored 25 points in the Saints' 57-44 win over West York in the consolation game of the West York Tournament. She also had 14 points in a season-opening, 53-47 loss to Plymouth-Whitemarsh in the first round.

Football

Wyomissing senior Ben Zechman guided the Spartans on a nine-play, 80-yard drive, including a 10-yard touchdown pass for a go-ahead score with 34 seconds left, in a 20-17 loss to Neumann-Goretti in the PIAA Class 3A semifinals. Zechman completed 4-of-8 passes on the drive to finish 9-for-18 for 115 yards.

Boys swimming

Wilson senior Takoda Heckman won the 200 IM in 1:55.73 and the 100 free in 48.22 to help lead the Bulldogs to a 136-47 win over Cumberland Valley and 158-25 victory over Dallastown.

Girls swimming

Wilson senior Morgan Valeriano won the 200 IM in 2:12.64 and the 100 free in 54.45 to help lead the Bulldogs to a 137-46 win over Cumberland Valley and a 165-18 victory over Dallastown.

Wrestling

Tulpehocken freshman Jack Heckman won all three of his matches by fall to earn the 189-pound title at the Big Cat Crawl at East Pennsboro. He pinned Hanover's Evan Fiorelli in 3:53 in the final.
