Berks high school honor roll: September 26, 2022

Sep. 25—Boys cross country

Twin Valley senior Anthony Engle won the Council Rock Invitational by nearly 13 seconds with a time of 16:26.37 to help the Raiders win the team title.

Girls cross country

Twin Valley senior Laura Posh finished second in the Souderton Twilight Invitational in 19:43.90.

Field hockey

Daniel Boone junior Hannah Huddleson scored four goals in 5-1 win over Reading High, had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over Gov. Mifflin, and had a goal in a 2-0 win over Conrad Weiser.

Football

Gov. Mifflin senior quarterback Delsin McNeil ran for 58 yards and three touchdowns and threw for a touchdown in the Mustangs' 42-8 win over Muhlenberg.

Golf

Wilson junior Kayla Maletto shot a 2-under 46 to help the Bulldogs defeat Conrad Weiser 194-229 and complete an undefeated regular season. Maletto also shot a 1-under 35 in Wilson's 144-159 victory over Daniel Boone, and a 4-under 32 to help lead the Bulldogs to a 141-157 win over Twin Valley.

Boys soccer

Fleetwood junior Josh Avila scored two goals in the Tigers' 3-0 win over Muhlenberg before scoring a goal in a 5-0 victory over Gov. Mifflin.

Girls soccer

Wyomissing junior Annie McCaffrey scored a hat trick in the Spartans' 7-1 win over Hamburg before recording two goals and two assists in a 6-0 victory over Schuylkill Valley.

Girls tennis

Gov. Mifflin junior Frianna Farfan went 3-0 in No. 1 singles to help lead the Mustangs to victory against Twin Valley, Daniel Boone, and Brandywine Heights. Farfan also went 3-0 in No. 1 doubles during those matches, playing twice with Maddy Leibowitz and once with Kira Jones.

Girls volleyball

Berks Catholic junior Olivia Jones had 16 kills, 11 digs, three aces and one block in the Saints' 3-1 over Fleetwood. Jones also had nine digs, five kills, one block and one ace in Berks Catholic's 3-0 win over Wyomissing.

Boys water polo

Exeter junior Kaiden Hughes made 17 saves and had two assists in the Eagles' 15-12 win over Central York.

Girls water polo

Exeter senior Megan Unruh scored nine goals, including the 400th over her career, and had four assists to lead the Eagles to an 18-10 victory over the Panthers. Unruh also scored 23 goals over three games to help lead Exeter to a 3-0 record at the Beast of the East tournament.
