TEREZ PAYLOR: All right, so the Chicago Bears are trying to solve their quarterback problem by trading for Nick Foles. They're giving up a conditional fourth-round pick to the Jaguars for the former Super Bowl MVP.

And I think this is a great trade for the Bears, for multiple reasons. Let's start with the biggest one. It is Mitchell Trubisky insurance. Either Mitchell Trubisky steps up finally in year three and shows why the Bears gave up so much to move up and get them with the second overall pick or Nick Foles takes over.

So I don't really see a way this doesn't work out for the Bears, because I actually feel there's so many aspects of this that should help them get the most out of Nick Foles if he is pressed into duty.

Let's start with the fundamentals, which is he has a lot of experience with the men he'll be coached with-- coached by, excuse me. Start with the head coach, Matt Nagy was the Chiefs quarterback coach in 2016 when he had a cup of coffee with the Chiefs after some time away from football. I was the beat writer for the Chiefs back then.

I covered the team. I will tell you, when he got to Kansas City, his footwork was a train wreck. And the coaches, the staff worked very hard with Nick to get that to an acceptable level, to really improve it. He performed well in a couple of games too, and I think that helped lay the groundwork for his big 2017 run with the Eagles, where of course, he won the Super Bowl.

So we have already seen that the head coach, Matt Nagy, can coach this guy. And they've got a history. But the history goes even deeper than that, because the new offensive coordinator, John DeFilippo, was also a coach in Philadelphia in 2017 when Foles was there killing it, right?

So we're bringing nick Foles back into a situation with coaches he knows, coaches that know him. Obviously, John DeFilippo is also offensive coordinator for the Jaguars last year, where Foles was. There's a lot of things I like about this if you're the Bears or you're a Bears fan. It's just hard to imagine that they won't find a way to get the most out of his talent.

It is a scheme fit. Expect to see a lot of shotgun. Expect to see him throw the ball around a little bit, quick rhythm tempo passing. And that's what Matt Nagy likes to do, too.

So to me, really like this trade for the Bears. I think it's got a really good chance of working out.
