Gavin Fugate ran for three touchdowns, Brock Guyette added two and W.F. West sprinted past Aberdeen, 45-14, at home in a 2A Evergreen Conference matchup Friday.

Fugate carried the rock 13 times for 139 yards and three scores, while Guyette scored twice on his seven carries for 30 yards as W.F. West scored 45 unanswered points after falling behind 8-0 early in the first quarter.

On paper, the matchup was dead even, with the Bearcats totalling 285 yards to Aberdeen's 243. The Bearcats even edged the Bobcats in rushing at 209 to 193.

But the Bearcats' defense stood tall and didn't break to hold Aberdeen scoreless for three-straight quarters. W.F. West forced seven Aberdeen punts on the night.

Fugate was 8 for 16 passing for 76 yards through the air, while freshman wideout Gage Brumfield led all Bearcat pass catchers with 41 yards on two catches.

W.F. West (5-2, 3-1 league) has now won three in a row and hosts rival Centralia in the 114th annual Swamp Cup on Friday.
