Bear Necessities: Chicago has toughest remaining strength of schedule

The Bears are sitting at 3-10 through the first 13 weeks of the 2022 season, where the focus has shifted to what’s going to be an important 2023 offseason.

Right now, Chicago is slated to have the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, where they could address an important need or perhaps trade back with a quarterback-needy team.

So it’s a good thing that their schedule presents an easy path to maintaining that top-two selection. The Bears have the toughest strength of schedule in the final five weeks of the 2022 season.

Chicago’s final four games are against the Eagles (Week 15), Bills (Week 16), Lions (Week 17) and Vikings (Week 18), who have a combined win percentage of .729.

It’s fair to wonder if there’s another win on the Bears’ schedule. They’ll face the top three teams in the NFL, as well as a surging Detroit squad. Chicago could certainly lose out, which might end up being what’s best for the future.
