A Battle Creek man always tells store clerks the same thing when he only buys one Michigan Lottery ticket, "‘It only takes one to win."

The 47-year-old's motto recently rang true when his one Lotto 47 ticket won him a $3.39 million jackpot.

His ticket matched the numbers drawn April 20 — 4-6-11-17-23-31, according to the Michigan Lottery.

“I didn’t realize I had won for a couple of weeks," the man, who chose to remain anonymous, told the Michigan Lottery. "I stack my tickets up, and then my wife scans them on the app to see if we won. When she scanned this ticket, she told me we’d won but I was certain she was just joking with me. When she started crying, I knew it wasn’t a joke at all."

"For now, I am going to put this in the bank and let it all sink in. Winning is just an amazing blessing,” he told the Michigan Lottery.
