State playoffs for spring sports have arrived for Davidson County high schools.

Central Davidson powered its way to a West Regional final appearance, looking to win its second state championship in three years. But the No. 4-seeded Spartans (17-7) lost their best-of-three state semifinals series against No. 3 North Buncombe to finish the season in the Final Four.

Davidson County's last girls' soccer standing in state playoffs was defeated Tuesday as No. 3 West Henderson beat No. 6 North Davidson 2-1 on Tuesday in the third round of state playoffs.

The Black Knights went undefeated in Mid-Piedmont 3-A play without allowing a goal to win their second straight league title.

All of Davidson County's baseball teams have been eliminated from state playoffs, with No. 2 Ledford making the deepest run before falling in Round 3 on Tuesday.
