Barnegat police forced to shut down Route 72 after serious motor vehicle accident

BARNEGAT - A serious motor vehicle accident has forced authorities to close a section of Route 72, between Routes 532 and 539, according to the Barnegat Township Police Department.

In a text message alert, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office warned all motorists to avoid the area.
