A new coffee shop featuring organic coffee and plant-based bakery is now open in downtown Port Washington inside Lakeside Music & Naturals.
Banjo's Brews Coffee — named after the owners' family dog — opened Aug. 6 at 115 N. Franklin St..
The menu features coffee beverages, smoothies, frozen lemonades, music-themed drink specials and plant-based bakery items.
"It's colorful. It's a fun, vibrant place based off of music and coffee," said owner Aaron Rossmiller. Banjo's is currently open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
After Smith Bros. Coffee Shop across the street closed, Rossmiller and his wife, Kat Chronis, saw a need in the community for a new coffee destination and decided to open their own spot in their music shop.
"It left a void on the main drag," Rossmiller said. They had some extra space in the music shop and decided to open Banjo's, he added.
Lakeside Music & Naturals in Port Washington was founded by Rossmiller in 2018. He has other locations in Sheboygan and Manitowoc.
