Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield used to wake up feeling dangerous — but now, he's waking up angry. And to him, that's a good thing.

"I play best when I'm angry," Mayfield told reporters after the Browns lost to the Seattle Seahawks 32-28 on Sunday. The second-year signal-caller was particularly upset with the officiating during the game, which dropped Cleveland to a 2-4 record on the season.

When asked after the game if he was angry, Mayfield gave a clear answer.

"Yeah, we lost," he said. "I'm pretty pissed."

The Browns blew a 20-9 lead as part of the loss, and there were several calls made that Mayfield disagreed with. During the same postgame availability, the quarterback called out a play that wide receiver Jarvis Landry was flagged on. The officials saw a blindside block, but Mayfield – backed up by the game's commentators and fans on Twitter – disagreed with the call.

After continued questions about his emotions, however, Mayfield softened slightly.

"You're like my counselor right now," he said after the third-straight question about his level of anger.

Cleveland is now entering its bye week, giving players plenty of time to get mad — if that's the mindset they need to be in, says Mayfield — before taking on the Patriots in New England during Week 8.
