Mack Butler will return to the Alabama House of Representatives, District 28 voters decided, as he unseated incumbent Gil Isbell with 51.98% of the vote to claim the Republican nomination in Tuesday's primary.

There is no Democratic challenger in November.

Butler previously served in the House from 2012 to 2018, representing District 30. Redistricting placed him in District 28 this year. He gave up the District 30 seat in a bid for the Alabama Senate in 2018, but lost the Republican nomination to Andrew Jones of Centre.
