Gabby Windey is having a reflective and emotional season on the Bachelorette. During her past two one-on-one dates, the co-bachelorette opened up about her complicated childhood and her rocky relationship with her mother.

ICYMI, while having dinner with Erich Schwer in the July 25 episode, Gabby left the table in tears after hearing Erich describe his parents' "deep love" and his close-knit relationship with them. She later revealed that she is estranged from her mother.

She discussed therapy with Jason Alabaster during last night’s episode, saying that it helped her “learn really how to allow people to love me because I never had an example of receiving it as a child,” per a clip from The Bachelor Nation YouTube.

Gabby considers herself the "imperfect bachelorette,” in large part to her "messy," and "complicated" relationship, she explained to a producer in a previous episode, per ET Online.

She said in a confessional that she feels "incredibly different than other women who’ve walked in my shoes," and that she doesn't always "want to explain my situation to people."

“My family may be atypical one and we may look different from others, but I am so grateful for how perfectly to me we are stitched together and wouldn’t have it any other way,” she said, per Life and Style Magazine.

Here's everything to know about Gabby's relationship with her mom and the rest of her fam.

Gabby's parents are divorced.

When Gabby was born in 1991, both her parents, Patrick Windey and Rosemary Hewitt lived in O'Fallon, Illinois, according to Life And Style Magazine. It's unclear when exactly they split.

Gabby's mother Rosemary is engaged.

Rosemary is ready to tie the knot again, Life and Style Magazine reported. She has been engaged to Allen Ware since January 2018, according to Meaww. Ware has a daughter from a previous relationship.

Based on her social media posts, Rosemary appears to live in Texas. And like Gabby, Rosemary is a registered nurse, per Life and Style Magazine.

Gabby is estranged from Rosemary.

You may remember from Clayton's season of The Bachelor that Gabby and her mother have a complicated relationship.

“As a kid, she was really physically affectionate, and then she would, like, flip and kind of withhold her love,” Gabby told Clayton during season 26 of The Bachelor. “We don’t really have a relationship now,” she said, per Us Weekly.

Her mother was not invited to Gabby's hometown date, according to Life and Style Magazine.

And in a July episode of The Bachelorette, Gabby sobbed to a producer, saying that she "can’t explain what it’s like to have a mom that doesn’t love you...Am I too broken for anyone to love?"

She then explained the situation with her mom to Erich: “We’re estranged. I don’t have a relationship with her,” Heavy reported.

Gabby opened up about their relationship on a date with Jason.

During their dinner date in Paris, Gabby told Jason that her mother “didn’t have the capacity” to love her when she was a child. “She was really quick to take away love,” and would threaten to send her to her father if she misbehaved, Gabby recounted.

Today, her mother isn’t a large part of her life. “When I left for college, she like washed her hands of me and didn’t want anything to do with me,” she said. Gabby told Jason that “the hardest part is I like love her like so much,” she said. “She just doesn’t have the tools to love me back.”

Rosemary supports Gabby's role on the Bachelorette.

Rosemary showed her support for her daughter's Bachelorette star turn by posting about Gabby on her Facebook account.

She posted an article about Gabby’s dating history before the season’s premiere which she captioned “🥰🥰” in January.

However, despite the recent step, Gabby does not follow an account that seems to belong to her mother back on Instagram.

Here is a TikTok that sums up Rosemary’s recent social media posts about Gabby and her role on The Bachelorette.

Gabby has a sister.

Gabby's sister is named Jazzmin Windey. She attended The Art Institute of Colorado. In 2021, she moved back to her hometown O’Fallon, Illinois. She lives there with her husband and their three children, per Life And Style Magazine.

She's close to her dad.

Gabby has a very strong relationship with her father, which you may remember from her hometown date in season 26.

ICYMI, Gabby was very emotional when her father couldn't attend the date due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but he made up for it in the most adorable way. He showed up at the end with a tender message written on a sign to prove his love, even from a safe distance, according to US Weekly.

She's also talked about her dad on Instagram before, referring to him as her "favorite man." She mentioned a specific time when her father drove to see her perform as a Denver Broncos cheerleader.

“Dad did 90 on the highway to get to my dress rehearsal on time lololol,” she wrote.

She also shared with her Instagram followers that her dad is a huge fan of aliens. Random, but incredibly cute.

“The best of the best!! I know I know I know, he doesn’t have an insta but I wanna show his alien-loving-self off. Thanks for all you do,” she captioned a 2018 post.

Gabby adores her Grandpa John.

In an interview with Bustle, Gabby shared, “My grandpa is so supportive and honestly such a rock."

She said that if he were to give her advice it would probably be something along the lines of, "Follow your heart and be happy. If you’re happy, I trust you and I’m gonna be happy for you,” she said. “Knowing that he has my back no matter what is the best feeling from a family member.”

Literally, all my besties love Grandpa John. And by besties, I mean Twitter.

One more for good measure.

She misses her grandma every day.

“If you think my grandpa is entertaining, imagine the woman he was married to for so many years,” she's said to Life and Style Magazine. "There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t feel her presence."
