Jul. 25—FORESTVILLE — Claiming his 56th career victory at Big Diamond Speedway, Oley's Jeff Strunk captured Friday night's 358 modified feature on the 3/8-mile oval.

The other feature winners were Branchdale's Tim Fitzpatrick in open sportsmen, Mount Cobb's Doug Smith in 602 crate sportsmen, Llewellyn's Alex Schoffstall in roadrunners and Wind Gap's Kevin Nagy in the Pennsylvania/Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series 305 sprints.

Earning his second win of the season, Strunk, who won in the same car in which he took last week's Short Track Super Series feature at Bloomsburg Fairgrounds, took the 25-lap victory over Fredericksburg's Scott Albert. Craig Von Dohren was third.

Fitzpatrick joined Mike Burrows as two-time feature winners in the open sportsmen this season. By placing second in the 20-lap feature, Lehighton's Brandon Edgar grabbed the track points lead from third-place finisher Doug Hendricks.

Smith became the eighth different 602 crate sportsman feature winner in nine programs this season at Big Diamond.

The PASS/MASS 305 sprints drew the largest turnout, 35 race teams, of any division and Nagy, a veteran of several sprint divisions, came away with the feature victory after taking the lead from Devin Adams on the eighth lap of the 25-lap event. Tim Tanner Jr., who started 18th, charged to second place by the finish ahead of Adams, Tylor Cochran and Cody West.

Schoffstall, the points leader, earned his fifth feature win of the season at Big Diamond in the 20-lap roadrunner feature.

In heat action, West joined Adams, Ken Duke Jr. and Doug Dodson as qualifying winners in the PASS/MASS sprints. Austin Reed and Eddie Wagner won B-mains.

In other divisions, the heat winners were Brett Kressley and Jared Umbenhauer in 358 modifieds and Edgar and Fitzpatrick with their fourth wins each in open sportsmen. Suhr, who won for the fourth time, and Matt Ney took roadrunner heats, while Kania and Tyler Peet claimed crate sportsman heat victories.

Big Diamond will host the Dave Kamp Memorial next Friday night for 358 modifieds, open and 602 crate sportsmen and roadrunners. The 7:45 p.m. program includes the open sportsman match races.
