A new book that revisits the 1950s murder case of Olga Duncan was released Tuesday with the author holding book signings in Ventura and beyond.
Author Deborah Holt Larkin's book is titled "A Lovely Girl: The Tragedy of Olga Duncan and the Trial of One of California's Most Notorious Killers." She will host book signings on Tuesday in Santa Barbara and Thursday in Ventura.
The book discusses the case of Olga Duncan, whose mother-in-law Elizabeth "Ma" Duncan was tried and convicted in March 1959 of hiring two men to strangle Olga to death. Olga Duncan was married to Frank Duncan, son of the convicted killer.
Elizabeth Duncan and the two men were sentenced to death in a Ventura courtroom. The case was featured in the Ventura County Star. Larkin's father, Bob Holt, wrote about the case for a newspaper.
