Recently elected Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has visited Kyiv suburbs of Bucha, Irpin, and Hostomel, which were under Russian occupation throughout March, head of Kyiv regional administration Oleksii Kuleba said in a Telegram post on July 3.

Albanese said he was struck by the sight of destroyed housing, traces of landmines, and the obliterated Hostomel airport – according to Kuleba.

“Australia supports Ukraine and calls for justice for the crimes committed here,” said Albanese.

In turn, Kuleba said he was grateful that the Australian delegation has visited the war-struck towns of Kyiv Oblast in person.

“The war in Ukraine – in the very heart of Europe – must remain on the global agenda,” he said.
