Augusta-area high school football games rescheduled due to Hurricane Ian

Several Augusta-area high school football games have been moved due to potential impact from Hurricane Ian.

Rivalry games were the first ones impacted. Both Lakeside at EvansNorth Augusta at South Aiken have been bumped up a day to Thursday. Aquinas at Lincoln County has been pushed to Oct. 14, during a schedule bye week for both programs.

According to the Weather Channel, Hurricane Ian is expected to reach south Georgia sometime Friday morning and the CSRA either late Friday or early Saturday. Heavy rain is expected and winds are projected in the 35 mile-per-hour range.

Games affected by Hurricane Ian

Augusta Prep (2-3) at Thomas Jefferson Academy (5-0) moved to Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Evans (3-2) at Lakeside (2-2) moved to Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

North Augusta (1-5) at South Aiken (1-5) moved to Thursday at 7:30

Cross Creek (1-4) at Harlem (4-1) moved to Thursday at 7:30

Morgan County (3-2) at Richmond Academy (3-2) moved to Thursday at 7:30

Silver Bluff (1-4) at Fox Creek (1-4) moved to Thursday at 7 p.m.

Aquinas (4-1) at Lincoln County (3-2) moved to Friday, Oct. 14
