Auditions end this week for karaoke competition at Garde Arts Center

Oct. 5—NEW LONDON — Auditions end this week for those who wish to compete in the Next Big Thing Karaoke competition at the Garde Arts Center later this month.

The event is an effort to raise awareness and funds for the Garde's youth and community programming, according to a news release.

In the competition, ten "local hopefuls will take the historic stage at the Garde Arts Center and compete for cash prizes. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place in addition to an audience favorite award."

The competition is on Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. and will be hosted by Pebbles from Jammin 1077 radio. Anyone interested in attending can purchase $15 general admission tickets on the Garde website or by calling the Garde's box office at 860-444-7373, ext. 1.
