Auburn women's basketball game vs Kentucky on Thursday postponed due to COVID-19

Auburn women's basketball has had to postpone its SEC opener on Thursday at Kentucky due to COVID-19 protocols within the Tigers' program.

"Due to a combination of a positive test, contact tracing and subsequent quarantining of individuals within the Auburn women's basketball program, Thursday's Kentucky at Auburn game has been postponed, consistent with Southeastern Conference COVID-19 management requirements," Auburn said in a school release Sunday.

A makeup date has not been determined. The SEC revised its COVID-19 cancelation policy Thursday to create an attempt at rescheduling games that are postponed due to COVID-19.

Schedule: Auburn women's basketball will have 10 games televised nationally in 2021-22

The Tigers are 8-3 and have wins against Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State. The Tigers had their game against New Orleans canceled earlier this season because of protocols within the New Orleans program.

The Tigers are scheduled to play at Alabama on Jan. 2 (4 p.m., SEC Network).
