Auburn basketball to compete in Legends Classic in 2023

The 2022-23 Auburn basketball season is less than three months away from tipping off, but the Tigers are already making plans for next season.

Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports and FanDuel has reported that Auburn will join Oklahoma State, Notre Dame, and St. Bonaventure in Brooklyn, New York for the 2023 Legends Classic.

It will be the second time in five years that Auburn will compete in the Legends Classic. During the 2019-20 season, Auburn went 4-0 in the Legends Classic, defeating Cal-State Northridge and Colgate in Neville Arena, and was victorious over New Mexico and Richmond at Barclays Center, home of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets.

It will also mark the sixth straight season that Auburn will compete in a neutral site tournament. This season, Auburn travels to Mexico to play in the Cancun Challenge on Nov. 22-23 against Bradley, and either Northwestern or Liberty.

Dates for the 2023 Legends Classic have yet to be determined. The 2022 Legends Classic, featuring Arizona State, Michigan, Pitt, and VCU, is set to take place Nov. 16 and 17 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
