Auburn Basketball has 79% chance to beat Saint Louis on Sunday

The No. 16 Auburn Tigers earned the Cancun Challenge crown last Wednesday, but had a hard time getting to the top.

In Wednesday’s championship game against Northwestern, Auburn shot 26% from the field in a 43-42 win. That performance came just one day after shooting 56% in a blowout win over Bradley to open the tournament.

Sunday, Auburn returns to Neville Arena to face a quality opponent in Saint Louis. The Billikens travel to Auburn with five wins on the season, among those victories were Memphis and Murray State.

Despite Saint Louis’ strong resume, Auburn is still expected to win the game convincingly. The latest ESPN Basketball Power Index forecast says that Auburn has a 78.6% chance to win on Sunday.

Saint Louis will feature four players who average double-digits every game, including point guard Yuli Collins, who averages 12 points and 10 rebounds per contest.

Auburn checks in at No. 16 in the latest ESPN BPI rankings, which is the sixth-highest in the SEC. As for Saint Louis, they are ranked No. 52 overall, which ranks the best among Atlantic 10 programs.
