DEDHAM, Mass. (AP) _ Atlantic Power Corp. (AT) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $34.2 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Dedham, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of 30 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 23 cents per share.

The utility posted revenue of $71.7 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported net income of $74.2 million, or 62 cents per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $272 million.

In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company's shares hit $2.90. A year ago, they were trading at $2.28.
