Arrest made after Monday morning car thefts at LaFayette, Georgia, dealership

Mar. 9—An arrest has been made after the theft of several vehicles from a LaFayette, Ga., car dealership Monday morning, according to a news release from the Walker County Sheriff's Office.

Corey M. Fletcher Jr., 22, of Chattanooga was arrested after he was found driving one of the vehicles stolen from Jenkins Chrysler Jeep Dodge. Fletcher has been booked into the Hamilton County Jail on a felony charge.

According to our news partner wrcbtv.com, Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said eight vehicles were stolen from the Jenkins Chrysler Jeep Dodge sometime Monday between 12:50 a.m. and 6 a.m. by five suspects who got into the dealership by prying open a rear door at the service department. Chattanooga police found three of the vehicles in the Wilcox Boulevard area of Chattanooga at about 5:15 p.m., Sheriff Wilson said.

Two vehicles were recovered in the 600 block of Bella Vista Drive in Chattanooga. Walker County detectives and the Chattanooga Police Department are working together following leads.

The five recovered vehicles have been hauled to Lafayette for processing. Three vehicles remain unaccounted for at this time.

A $2,500.00 reward is being offered by the dealership and Walker County Sheriff's Office for information leading to the recovery of the vehicles as well as the arrest and conviction of the responsible parties.
