No. 6 (4A) Dallas Center-Grimes 7, Pella Christian 1

GRIMES — The Eagles were hanging with the always tough Mustangs of Dallas Center-Grimes on Wednesday but the home squad was able to get some insurance runs in the middle innings to pull away.

DCG got a 2-0 lead going after two innings but PC was able to cut that in half with a run in the top the fourth to pull within one. But the Mustangs would plate three in the bottom of the fourth and another two in the fifth to balloon their lead.

Pella Christian (6-18, 1-13 LHC) return home to host Cancer Awareness Night on Friday at 5:30 p.m. with a doubleheader against Newton (12-11, 7-8 LHC).

Dallas Center-Grimes 7, Pella Christian 4

GRIMES — Both teams had an early scoring frenzy but it was DCG being able to add on later in the game to get the win.

Pella Christian came out firing with a four-run first inning before the Mustangs would come up with the equalizer of a four-run first inning of their own to tie it at 4-4. DCG would hold PC off the scoreboard the rest of the way while adding one run in the fourth and two in the fifth to pull in front.

Pella Christian (5-15, 1-13 LHC) are back at it on Friday at 5:30 p.m. for a doubleheader against Newton (10-11, 6-9 LHC).
