The Adelanto boys basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 69-35 victory over Barstow on Tuesday night.

The Saints’ defense led the way, holding Barstow to 16 first-half points. Adelanto led 35-16 at the half and 53-23 after the third quarter.

Kenyon Crittendon led the Saints with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Jaden Richards scored 20 points, and Arthur Parker chipped in 11 points.

The victory snaps Adelanto’s two-game skid in Desert Sky League action. Adelanto lost by three points in those games against Victor Valley and Silverado.

The Saints (17-5, 2-2 DSL) are back in action Thursday against Granite Hills at home after three-straight road games.

Adelanto is currently in third place in the DSL standings, with second-place Victor Valley at a 2-1 league record.

Silverado 72, Granite Hills 37

At Apple Valley, the Hawks’ defense shut down the Cougars in a 35-point victory Tuesday night.

Andrew Quinonez led the way with 21 points, five rebounds, and three steals, and Elijah Williams added 14 points with eight rebounds.

Silverado (13-5, 4-0 Desert Sky League) is back in action Friday at home against Victor Valley.

PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL

Silverado 64, Granite Hills 19

At Victorville, the Hawks held the Cougars to 19 points Tuesday night and improved to 4-1 in Desert Sky League action.

Belinda Rincon led the way for Silverado with 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, and four steals; Kyasia Green added 13 points, six rebounds, three blocks, and three steals; and Stephanie Udeze scored 10 points with five rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

CIMS 42, Hesperia Christian 27

At Victorville, the Cougars topped the Patriots to second place in the Cross Valley League standings.

For Hesperia Christian, Kailey New had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds; Jadelyn Gallardo scored seven points, and Averie Nebel chipped in six points with six rebounds.

The Patriots (13-6, 6-2 CVL) are back in action at home Friday night against University Prep.

11 Jackrabbits claim titles at DSL Finals

At Adelanto, Victor Valley celebrated another dominant showing at the Desert Sky League Finals as 11 wrestlers won titles in their weight classes.

Hugo Rodriguez (106), Bryan Castro (113), Roberto Garcia (120), Jose Garcia (126), Robert Medina (132), Avian Singh (138), Aaron Ramirez (145), and Jesse Cardona (182) each won their matches by pinfall.

Barstow’s Diego Garcia pinned Silverado’s Iopu Sagapolu at 195 pounds, and Damian Soto scored a major decision over Victor Valley’s Joseph Cruz at 152 pounds.

All top-three placers advance to the CIF-Southern Section individuals tournament next month.
