These area athletes will compete in the NCHSAA Women's Wrestling Invitational

The NCHSAA girls’ wrestling state championship tournament is Friday and Saturday.

Friday's wrestling will be at the RISE Indoor Sports complex in Advance and the championship and consolation final rounds will be Saturday at The Greensboro Coliseum Fieldhouse.

Here is a look at area wrestlers participating in this year’s tournament, their seeds from the East and their records:

Kaylum Mills, Croatan: The junior is the East’s fourth seed at 107. She is 20-12 overall.

Angelica Steffy, Croatan: The senior is the East Regional champion at 138 and won the state title last year at 132 after winning all four of her matches in the invitational. She is 27-2 overall.

Madeline Coplen, Dixon: The senior is the East’s fourth seed at 126. She is 19-6 overall. She is a three-time invitational qualifier and was 2-2 and finished third in the tournament last year. Coplen, however, won't be able to participate because of an injury.

Giovanna Disbennett, Dixon: The sophomore is the East’s fourth seed at 138. She is 16-13 overall.

Sundiata Gaston, Dixon: The senior is the East Regional runner-up at 235. She is 21-7 overall.

Anabel Rodriguez, Dixon: The sophomore is the East Regional champion at 120. She is 24-3 overall. She was 4-2 to finish fourth in the state invitational last year.

Marianna Root, Dixon: The senior is the East’s third seed at 107. She is 16-14 overall. She was 3-2 in last year’s tournament.

Lauren Horvath, Richlands: The senior is the East’s fourth seed at 145. She is 11-9 overall. She went 1-2 in the state tournament last year.

Maggie Milbery, Swansboro: The sophomore is the East Regional champion at 145. She is 25-9 overall.

Sophia Sutton, Swansboro: The junior is the East Regional runner-up at 138. She is 29-5 overall.

Reilynn Swift, Swansboro: The junior is the East’s fourth seed at 165. She is 23-10 overall.

Bridgette Westbrook, Swansboro: The junior is the East’s third seed at 132. She is 28-12 overall.
