Annual Lafayette Peach Festival offers 'something for everyone'

Aug. 12—Bushels of Palisade peaches will take over Old Town Lafayette, with around 15 tons of the tree fruit being brought in for the 23rd annual Lafayette Peach Festival on Aug. 20.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., visitors can wander Old Town for sample slices of peach pie, cobbler and other deserts while shopping among crafters, antique dealers and Colorado artisans.

More than 30,000 pounds of certified organic peaches from Palisade Organic Peach Ranch, Morton's Orchards and Tate Orchards in Palisade will be available at three locations along Public Road.

In addition to food and shopping, children's face painting and balloon sculpting will be available.

"We're very excited to have it back to normal this year," said Amy Lindeman, director of events and marketing for the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce.

With over 150 vendors and cuisine from Himalayan to Mexican, Lindeman said there was something for everyone at the festival.

"But we're still all about the peaches," she said. "We sell out every year."
