AMERICANS INCREASINGLY SEE IMMIGRATION AS THE COUNTRY’S MAIN ISSUE

As the U.S. finds itself in a heated battle over immigration policy, Americans have made one thing clear: immigration is the most important problem in the country. According to a recent Gallup poll, 23% of respondents indicated that immigration is the main issue in the country, the highest percentage to date. At the same time, 76% described immigration as a good thing for the country, which is also the highest figure to date. “This means that the issue will not go away until policymakers find a way to resolve this issue to the satisfaction of American voters,” Alex Nowrasteh, the director of immigration studies at the Cato Institute, told Yahoo Finance.
