American Express revamps its famous Green from AmEx card

American Express has revamped one of its most famous cards.

Previously referred to as the American Express Green Card, the new card, Green from AmEx, has a slew of modern upgrades that cater to a more active demographic.

Along with a new name, the card's benefits are also new and improved. Some of the new perks include 3X points on travel including transit, $100 clear credit, 3X points on global restaurants, $100 loungebuddy credit and payment and purchase flexibility.

The brand also enlisted A-list celebrities and social media influencers to help promote the significantly enhanced card during its launch event in Brooklyn, NY.

"I’m excited to share that I’m partnering with @AmericanExpress to relaunch the iconic #AmexGreen Card. You earn 3X points on travel, including transit (aka subway, taxis, rideshares) and restaurants worldwide. Perfect for all you adventurous spirits out there who are ready to explore the benefits of having a Card that supports your lifestyle," Lili Reinhart, an Amex Ambassador, posted on her Instagram.

New cardholders can earn 30,000 Amex Membership Rewards when they spend $2,000 on qualifying purchases in the first three months. Additionally, new members who apply by January 15, 2020, will be eligible to receive up to $100 in statement credits for purchases made directly with Away.
