Cooper was initially ruled questionable to return, but things didn’t look good. He was spotted standing next to linebacker Devin Smith on the sideline. Smith is inactive.

After being evaluated at halftime, Cooper was ruled out for the game.

Cooper left the contest after the Cowboys’ first drive. He was targeted twice on that drive, catching one pass for three yards.

Without Cooper, the Cowboys took a long time to get going on offense. At half time, Dallas trails 21-6. Dak Prescott has sustained some drives, but the Cowboys stalled at the worst possible moments.

Things got better in the second half, as the Cowboys managed to get back into the game. Dallas even had a chance to tie late, but the team couldn’t convert a two-point attempt. The Cowboys lost 24-22.

Cooper had gotten out to a hot start this season. Through five games, Cooper caught 32 passes for 512 yards and five touchdowns.

With the Cowboys already without Randall Cobb, La’el Collins and Tyron Smith, it was up to Ezekiel Elliott, Michael Gallup and Jason Witten to bring the team back. While that group came close, the Cowboys couldn’t get it done.

After starting the season 3-0, Dallas has dropped to 3-3. They’ll try to right the ship against the division rival Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7.
