Report: Amanda Nunes to defend featherweight belt vs. Megan Anderson at UFC 256 in December
The UFC’s only remaining dual-belt champion has her next title defense.
Amanda Nunes will defend her UFC featherweight title against Megan Anderson at UFC 256 on Dec. 12, according to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto. The location and venue of the event has not yet been announced.

The bout will be Nunes’ second featherweight defense since taking the title from Cris Cyborg in 2018. Her last fight was also at featherweight, defeating Felicia Spencer at UFC 250 in June.
Overall, Nunes is riding an 11-fight win streak dating back to 2015, with seven of th wins coming against current or former UFC titleholders. Unlike other dual-belt holders, she has actually been able to defend both belts at the same time, and will attempt to do so against a former Invicta featherweight champion in Anderson.
Anderson is riding a two-fight win streak with first-round finishes against Norma Dumont Viana and Zarah Fairn Dos Santos. Before those bouts was a first-round submission loss to Felicia Spencer, who went onto challenge Nunes and lose via unanimous decision.
Nunes figures to be an overwhelming favorite, but the UFC has certainly seen some shocking outcomes before.
