Amanda Kloots' son Elvis makes TV debut in sweet Mother's Day surprise

"Elvis is in the building!"

CBS' "The Talk" kicked off Mother's Day weekend with a sweet surprise for co-host Amanda Kloots, who is about to experience her first Mother's Day since husband Nick Cordero died from COVID-19 complications in July at age 41.

Co-host Elaine Welteroth introduced Kloots and Cordero's son Elvis, who turns 2 next month: "We can’t wait for him to join in on the Mother’s Day fun. Making his television debut, please welcome… the very adorable Elvis Cordero."

The tiny tot was all dressed up in a white tuxedo as he walked out onstage to his "favorite song," his late dad's single "Live Your Life," which became an inspirational anthem during Cordero's battle with coronavirus. Elvis handed his mother a bouquet of tulips and jumped into her arms.

"Are you kidding me right now?" Kloots, 39, said before embracing her son. "You guys, I can't believe he actually just did that."

"That's how you make an entrance," co-host Sheryl Underwood said. Welteroth added, "What a cutie."

The panel of co-hosts, which included guest co-hosts Justin Baldoni and Jerry O’Connell, showered Kloots and Elvis with gifts, including a toy garbage truck and matching "The Talk" pajamas.

Gayle King and some characters from "Sesame Street" also joined in on the fun.

"I know you don't need any advice from me on how to be a good mom," King said in a pre-recorded clip. "I see how great you are with Elvis and how much you love him. I can only tell you this: It only gets better. As much as you love this stage with Elvis, it only gets better."

The former Broadway actress turned celebrity fitness trainer joined "The Talk" as a permanent co-host in January after captivating America and bringing fans along her family's journey following Cordero's COVID-19 diagnosis in March 2020.

Cordero died July 5 after a 95-day hospital stay with a series of complications from the coronavirus, including a leg amputation, lung infections and the insertion of a temporary pacemaker. Kloots kept her social media followers updated at every turn.

Ahead of her new hosting gig in January, Kloots opened up about struggling over the holidays, particularly New Year's because "when a new year comes you want a clean slate or to forget about last year... but I can't forget about last year and will not be able to wipe that slate clean."
