Amanda Holden will try to impress Britain’s Got Talent viewers with her own skills when she sings live on the show next year.

The star, 48, recently bagged a lucrative record deal and has now agreed to showcase her vocals on the ITV programme, where she has been a judge since 2007.

Holden spilled the beans when she appeared on Lorraine with fellow Britain’s Got Talent judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.

“He's (Cowell) asked me whether I want to sing on Britain’s Got Talent next year and I've said yes," she said.

Cowell teased that Holden could only take the stage if she sang live.

"Of course it's live!" she laughed.

When Cowell joked that he would like Holden to try out for the chance, she quipped: “We’re beyond auditioning, darling.”

Holden landed her record deal in July, after sharing a video that showed her singing the song Tightrope from the film The Greatest Showman.

She had recorded her rendition of the track as an anniversary gift for her husband Chris Hughes.

The video went viral and apparently sparked a bidding war, with many top companies taking an interest,

Holden eventually signed with Virgin EMI and it was reported at the time that her deal was worth a whopping £1 million.

She confirmed that she was launching a music career by sharing a picture on Instagram of her signing her contract.

“Bloody thrilled to confirm I have signed an amazing record deal with @VIRGINEMI,” said the mum-of two.

“It has been a lifetime dream!!!!!

“Just cannot wait to get started...”
