ALCS Game 4 between Yankees and Astros postponed due to weather
Game 4 of the American League Championship Series will happen, but it won’t happen on Wednesday. Due to inclement weather affecting the New York City area, Game 4 has been postponed.

That means that the Houston Astros and the New York Yankees will now square off for Game 4 at 8 pm ET on Thursday, and Game 5 will be moved to 7 pm ET Friday. Friday was originally supposed to be a travel day, since Games 6 and 7 are being played in Houston — if they need to be played at all. The Astros lead the Yankees 2-1 in the series, and if they win Games 4 and 5, Games 6 and 7 won’t be necessary.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told Yahoo Sports’ Matt Ehalt on Tuesday that in the event of a rainout, he’d likely send Game 1 starter Masahiro Tanaka to the mound for Game 4. The Astros haven’t revealed their pitching plans in the event of a rainout, but their Game 1 starter, Zack Greinke, would be on normal rest. Both teams’ Game 2 starters, James Paxton and Justin Verlander, would be on normal rest for Game 5. If there is a Game 6, both teams would likely go to their bullpens for the full nine innings — a setup that benefits the Astros and hurts the Yankees.
