Alabama transfer linebacker Drew Sanders commits to Arkansas football

Alabama football transfer linebacker Drew Sanders committed to Arkansas on Sunday.

The 6-foot-5, 244-pound Sanders, a sophomore, visited Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas after entering the transfer portal, according to 247Sports. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

"I am excited to announce that I will continue my football career at the University of Arkansas!!" Sanders wrote on Twitter. "Signed and ready to go to work!! #GoHogs"

Sanders, who is staying inside of the SEC West, entered the transfer portal on Tuesday, one day after Alabama lost the CFP National Championship Game to Georgia.

He had 24 tackles, including 2.5 for a loss, in 12 games with three starts in the 2021 season. Sanders played in 11 games, primarily special teams, as a freshman.

Sanders originally committed to Alabama out of Ryan High School in Denton, Texas, over several schools including Oklahoma. He was a composite five-star prospect in the Class of 2020, according to 247Sports.
